May 22, 2016 – June 4, 2016: Eddie Brill makes his return to VHI
Eddie will be putting on two comedy shows, one of which will be open to the public. His show for guests will take place Friday, May 27, 2016 and the public show will be Saturday, May 28, 2016. There will be one public speaking / comedy workshop for guests.
Eddie Brill (January 3 – January 16, 2016): Eddie Brill is an American comedian, writer, and actor who started his career in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended Emerson College, where he founded the Emerson Comedy Workshop along with Denis Leary, Chris Phillips, and Adam Roth. He helped to create the first comedy writing department in a college, along with fellow alumni Norman Lear in 1978. He also began performing stand-up while in college. He stopped after college in 1980 and then picked it back up in July 1984 when he started a comedy club in NYC named The Paper Moon. Brill has been working internationally as a comedian since 1989 and has appeared on over 100 TV shows in six different countries. He also worked for the Late Show with David Letterman from February 1997 through February of 2014 as the audience warm-up and in March 2001 also became the talent coordinator for the stand-up comedians. He is also the creative director of The Great American Comedy Festival in Norfolk, Nebraska which honors Johnny Carson. Brill tours frequently, performing in the US as well as England, Ireland, France, Australia, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong. At one time, he was a humor consultant for Reader’s Digest.
June 5 – June 11, 2016: Jodie Baty is a Certified Homeopathic Food Consultant, Raw Food Chef, and Medical Massage Therapist.
This week Jodie will focus on the spiralizer and dehydrator. Learn recipes you can make for yourself as well as your pets. Also, the many different ways to turn your veggies into breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
June 26 – July 2, 2016: Gail Wyckhouse is a Naturopath. As a Naturopath, she is a personal advocate and an example of living a balanced life; body, mind and spirit. She is energized and passionate about foods. Gail believes that being healthy does not mean you have to give up everything tasty or giving up foods that are not so healthy. Gail works with her clients to help them create happy, healthy lives through her contagious enthusiasm.
This week, Gail will take you through what happens to food as it enters the mouth and goes through the process of digestion. She will explain pH levels throughout the digestion process. Gail will also cover how the body absorbs food and nutrients and the process of assimilation and elimination. She will end the week with a pH test yourself program.

July 10 – July 23, 2016: Linda Mahns holds an undergraduate degree in fine art/art history and a Masters degree in Holistic Health. She is known for helping people make positive changes in food and health that fit into their lifestyle.
During her first week, Linda will discuss types of stress and how our body reacts. She will offer many ways to help reduce stress and guests will learn new ways to cope with stress. These coping skills will help when you are drawn to emotional eating. In her second week at VHI, Linda will explore the emotional, physical and mental attachments as well as addictive nature of food. She will also explore what detox looks and feels like in the mind, body and spirit. This week includes journaling and visualization.

Linda Szarkowski (April 24 – April 30,2016): Linda Sazrkowski, founder of Green Spirit, has moved her business from Chicago to the Traverse City / Leelanau County, MI area. She is certified in the Benefits of Raw Food Nutrition, Chef and Instructor from the Living Light Culinary Institute in Ft. Bragg, CA, and Living Foods Educator from the Living Foods Institute in Atlanta, GA. Linda has been a chef at the award-winning Chicago Diner and helped to open a raw restaurant, Beets Cafe in Austin TX, prior to starting her packaged healthy, raw food business. She had many happy and dedicated customers in her six years of providing nourishing food. Linda has taught classes with Green Spirit and Raw Gourmet International, as well as created a very popular raw food cleanse. She was invited to be a featured demo chef at the Taste of Chicago three years in a row and was delighted to share about raw foods with a diverse audience, and at one of her favorite annual events, VeganMania.

Lynnette Astaire (March 6 – March 12, 2016): Lynnette is a lifestyle expert and raw food chef with 15 years of plant based cooking experience and 10 years of juice detox fasting experience. She spends much of her time off the Pacific Coast of Mexico at LiveLoft, her juice and raw food detox retreat as well as traveling worldwide for workshops, lectures and lifestyle events.
